We offers different kinds of supportive services that will facilitate a smooth reintegration for our participants
T.O.U.C.H. provides additional supportive services to SOLUTIONS participants, in order to facilitate their successful reintegration into society. The services offered include bus passes, assistance obtaining a state ID, birth certificate replacement, and voter registration.
Computer Literacy Workshop
The computer literacy workshop is held weekly. Participants learn basic typing skills and how to use the internet. Participants are assisted with creating an email address to help them get started with mainstream technology. We have a computer lab with 15 fully functioning computers
T.O.U.C.H. Clothing Bank
One of the first struggles recently released individuals face is insufficient clothing. Some returnees only have the clothes on their backs. That is no way to begin successful reentry. For those who attend our talk sessions, we offer the chance to walk through our clothing bank and some clothing for themselves and possibly for their families. We appreciate men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing donations.
T.O.U.C.H. Giving Back Project
Each of our adult mentoring program participants takes part in a T.O.U.C.H. Giving Back Project, in which one of the weekly talk sessions is dedicated to a community service project. One of the topics included in the curriculum is overcoming the stereotype of being an ex-offender, and this project is one way to break society of the stereotypes it holds for this population.
